On Saturday, April 22, join SUFC and its members in celebrating Earth Day. We’ve highlighted below some of the important work our members are doing to celebrate our planet and ways in which you can join them in keeping our planet happy and healthy.

California ReLeaf | Earth Day Resources | California ReLeaf has compiled several tree planting and urban forestry resources, including webinars, resource documents, and press releases, as part of their celebration of Earth Day 2023.

Casey Trees | Community Tree Planting in Washington, DC | Join Casey Trees in Washington, DC on Earth Day to help plant trees at Fort Stanton Recreation Center! No prior experience needed; on-site training will be provided.

Corazón Latino | Earth Day Extravaganza | To celebrate Earth Day, Corazón Latino will be participating in a series of events to honor our planet across Arizona, Puerto Rico, Texas, and the Metaverse.

National Recreation and Park Association Five Ways Parks and Recreation is a Climate Hero | This Earth Month, NRPA is celebrating all the ways parks and recreation is a climate hero. You can check out their infographic that shares some of the top ways parks and recreation is tackling our world’s toughest climate issues.

National Wildlife Federation Clean Earth Challenge|The National Wildlife Federation encourages you to join the Clean Earth Challenge to join volunteers across the country in helping to clean up trash and litter in their neighborhoods. Every piece collected helps the National Wildlife Federation reach its goal of collecting one million pieces of trash to help the planet!

The Nature Conservancy | Earth Day 2023 Resources| TNC has put together several resources to help you make the most of your Earth Day celebrations. Find opportunities to help preserve land near you, attend online educational events or in person guided hikes and tours, or donate to plant more trees to curb the effects of climate change.

Sustainable Forestry Initiative |Optimism on Earth Day: International Panel Cites Sustainable Forestry as Key to Climate-Change Adaption and Mitigation | SFI has analyzed the International Panel on Climate Change’s Summary for Policymakers that “cites sustainable forestry as having the potential to play a positive role in several ways that align closely with SFI’s work in forest certification, conservation, education, and supporting strong, vibrant communities.”
